How We Did It

My name is Eric.  I was in Ms. Parker's class in 4th grade.  Now I come to her house for tutoring.  It is very fun and easy.

The class had to look in a Cherokee legend book and read a story.  We had to pick a story that we thought was going to be good.

We had to write the beginning, middle, and end.

We had to tell the story into a tape recorder.  We went kid to kid and each one said a sentence until the story was over.  We listened to our tape.

Ms. Parker typed the story on the computer and printed a copy for everybody.  We got to read it.  Then we added parts to make the story sound better.  We all got a copy of the new version.

Then we underlined the verbs.  We read them out loud.  We used a thesaurus to find more exciting words.  I got to fix the words on the computer.

Ms. Parker and I started a web page.  It was fun.  I got to copy and paste the words into Netscape Composer.

The class got to make pictures.  I picked the 3 best ones. We stuck the pictures in the scanner.  I scanned them. The scanner makes all kinds of noise.  I adjusted the the light and made frames.

I decided where to put the pictures in the story.

I watched Ms. Parker link Uncle Remus legends on to her page.

I am so eager to have my own web page.
