Little People might be around us. They can change into anything.
If you are good, they will help you. If you are mean, they won't.

If you are in the woods and see something that you might really want, something like a brand new knife or a brand new fishing pole, do not pick it up or take it. It might be the Little People's.

Once there was a family that had twins. It was winter. The twins' family had a big old feast.

The twins' dad told them to go get a bucket of water. They saw some kids playing by the well.

There were some flowers growing in the ground and it wasn't even time for it. The kids gave the twins some flowers. The twins went back home. Their mom asked where they got the flowers.

The uncle took the flowers back down to the well. There were no kids and no footprints.

The twins got really sick and weak. Then they died. They probably died because the Little People wanted the twins to be with them.

There are some men in Oklahoma who go up in the forest and let some dogs loose so they could go catch things. They stay up all night long. The men talk a lot of men talk in front of a fire. The hear the dogs barking when the dogs come back.

One night they drove their pick up truck. One man was blind. He sat in the truck while the other men were talking. They heard the dogs. This time the dogs came down. They got closer, then ran around the truck.

The dogs ran around the fire and snapped at it. The fire burned some of their whiskers. The dogs kept staring at the fire. A piece of wood flipped out. For a split second, the men saw a little person. Later they saw a shadow jump out of the fire and run up the mountain. The dogs chased after it.

The men went to tell the blind man. He said, "I already know."

The men left their dogs until morning when the sun came out. They went back to get the dogs. The dogs were tired.

A long time ago in 1861, there was a man named Tsv-na-sdu-ti who lived in Oklahoma. He lived way up in the woods by a stream. Whenever people walked near his house, they thought he threw rocks at them.

One morning he woke up very early. He heard flutes playing. He sat on the porch and looked across the creek. He saw thousands or more Little People.

They wore buckskin clothes. They looked just like people, except their eyes were big. They were about 22 inches tall.

Tsv-na-sdu-ti followed them. Two of the Little People came up to Tsv-na-sdu-ti, but they didn't speak to him. They went back across the creek. Tsv-na-sdu-ti went in the woods behind his house and saw a rock that he never saw before.

He went up to the rock and looked in a hole big enough for a man to crawl in. The hole started getting bigger and bigger. He saw many Little People in the cave.

The Little People disappeared a few years later. They disappeared because people were fighting each other. Brothers were fighting each other because of the Civil War.
