Parasailing Over the Gulf of Mexico
On my 13th birthday I got to go parasailing over the Gulf of Mexico. It made me feel like a bird.
The guy who was driving the boat almost drove up on the bank, but he did not. We had to walk out in the water a little bit. We went out in the water. I got to sit up front. The waves were hitting the boat and he was going very fast and water hit me in the face.
At lift off, your stomach gets queezy and you tighten up and you hold on real tight. But when you get up there, your stomach gets used to it (with the exception of some people). It was like flying with the wind in your face and in your hair and I guess I was flying.
The water seemed to be a lot bigger and greener than when I saw it from the beach.. I saw a big dark green turtle. It was about the size of a big truck tire. The people on the beach looked like ants and mom did, too.
We stayed up about 10 minutes. I wish I could have stayed up longer. Coming down was not as scary as going up. All they did was reel you in. When we came back the waves were hitting the boat and it made it bounce.
