Presidential Helicopter Visits Franklin Airport

The Presidential Helicopter, Marine 1, refueled at the Franklin Airport on March 11th. Randy and Irene Hughes took a chance to visit with their son, Marine Sergeant Dewey Hughes. Sergeant Hughes, a native of Franklin, is a crew chief for the Presidential Helicopter Squadron, HMX-1 stationed at Quantico, Virginia. The Presidential Helicopter landed at 3 PM and took off after refueling approximately an hour later.

President Bush was not on the helicopter during the visit.
